Day 13: Udaipur, the romantic city

Namaste from Udaipur,

This city is known as the romantic city of Rajasthan . It actually has a special charm Romantic though it have not found since we've seen a lot of garbage and the lake that we imagine is what gives it that character, it is extremely low and appears much floating crap. To all this we add the heat and the insistence of the Indians sell all kinds .............................

Today we start with a photo of the entrance to our guest house, which incidentally comes in Loly, the truth that is super good as we told you yesterday and the staff is very friendly. When the alarm has sounded a bit we echo the slackers and have been almost an hour more sleep than we are on vacation noses .......... We had a site recommended by Analia for breakfast at a French Bakery called NAMASTE CAFE and the truth has been a success. Our breakfast consisted of toast with jam, coffee with milk and pineapple juice that was that you lick your fingers, all for 141 rupees. From here and there and when pressed the heat but were 10.30 in the morning we released to the streets to see the Temple Jagdish Temple, Indo-Aryan temple is a well carved and houses a black stone image of Vishnu in the form of Jagannath, lord of the universe. The temple we liked because it was very cut and was quite striking, as we have always had to have gone barefoot but with socks. The temple was free but as always we have made a donation to keep us shoes. Once we left here we went walking through callejitas up to the City Palace (City Palace), tickets cost 50 rupees plus 200 rupees each for any camera. Analia told us that this is nothing special as it is all museums: fabric, paint, clothes .......... with which we have yet seen was more than enough the only perculiaridad is that it is the largest in Rajasthan.

From here we continued wandering up to the Lake Pichola, first thing that catches our attention is lower than this and the amount of garbage out there. We have been a while sitting in a turret, which seemed ditched, enjoying the shade the beautiful views from here had. EVSI from here Jagniwas islands and Jagmandir that are inside the lake. The first is a hotel that is the lake palace hotel built by the Maharaja Jagat SinghII in 1754 and was once the summer residence, today is considered one of the most spectacular hotels mundo.es the second is a palace 100 years oldest but nothing to highlight special. We wanted to take a boat and take a stroll by the lake but between the heat and little water it has, we have not desired anything. From here we have seen also that women and girls had washed in some of the ghat and we have approached. Wash clothes here and tend to the sun, takes to dry about 5 minutes. Also are based, an and are cleaned in the lake. And we believe that most of the houses have no running water, it is also common to see people take water from the springs.

From here we went to visit the Bagore-ki-Haveli, the traditional houses decorated havelis. This raised him a former minister in the eighteenth century, has 138 rooms around courtyards, terraces and elegant balconies. When we went to get the light was gone, so do not let us through. George asked if we could go to a picture of the interior and we have allowed it. Little by little the end we have visited all, we even sat in one of the balconies watching the view was magnificent.

As was the 1 pm and hardly anything to heat it us to wander through the old town of Udaipur. The facades of the houses are striking in color, but it's a shame they are so neglected. Starting Out As hungry and we had already shaken hands with 500 children who approached us, we wanted a restaurant with good views to eat. We've gotten into a nice hotel called Hotel WonderView and next to a window overlooking the lake have eaten. Jorge has called macaroni and cheese gratin and vegetable and cheese I also gratin, a bottle of water and butter chapati (a Mexican-style pancake). All it has cost us 160 rupees.

After the heat was unbearable and decided to go to the Internet to write the day yesterday. Finally encotramos the best computer with the best connection all the time that we have in India, not only for the connection but very fast moving pictures, so that little time and we have done the job.

decided to take a walk down other streets more narrow and it gave the cloud until an emergency intestinal made us very rapidly back to the hotel. And sometimes Indian food produce internal movements (let the totuga out and to the shell). Health are fine but occasionally ...........

the way to the hotel are in a work working women and children, which is quite common here.
climbed to the terrace of the hotel for a drink and watch the sunset is that since there are good views to take pictures.
At 7.00pm we knew we had rajastanis typical dances, so we decided to go see them. Are in the Haveli morning we went free thanks to the power outage, and now we have paid 60 rupees each to see them. We do not carry a camera so we did not have to pay for it, but if you have to pay for them. The reason was not to wear at night and in low light is not worth it. The dances lasted 1 hour and consists of several typical dances, which we liked most was one made with puppets and the last one is a typical dance of women in the desert, is that women start dancing with a big pot head and ends with nine vessels, one above the other (impressive as did the dancer). Even when I had 4 pots above Christ was dancing ales (try not suffering from the neck). The explanation of this dance is ancient and remembers the joy I felt the women in the desert when they found water. We do not give more clues about the dance because it is very cool and if someone comes to be worth seeing the surprise and enjoyment.

When we went out to dinner at a restaurant called Sunrise (also comes in the Lonely) and dinner: pizza Jorge (to call them that) consisting of a base and Power Company for over a tomato sauce with mushrooms and cheese sprinkled on top but without putting in the oven; Bea frown a tomato tortilla with cheese very good. All with a bottle of water and two pepsi were 140 rupees.

From here on the bed we were pretty tired and is that heat destroys us and also morning we got up at 7.30 am. Haber

if tomorrow we can put a picture of Chaman since we are on the disk that has problems, but some information is not much and certainly not good. Another clarification is that it is we do not have enough days that if they give us, the issue is that we have hired 14 days, so we would have to return to Delhi on May 1 and the role of the contract puts it back on 30th April (meet my cousin Carlos, who if I remember it felicitais on my part). Of course if we meet we remember the Rose. So to see if there are problems and we need not discuss much ........

Kisses and hugs as appropriate.
